What fix-ci does

fix-ci resolves the active pull request and checks its status with gh pr checks. It then investigates the failed job, using GitHub Actions logs where available or the check link to locate the first actionable error. After a change, it returns to the PR checks and repeats the cycle.

The skill handles one actionable failure at a time and favours small, low-risk edits over broad refactoring. gh pr checks remains the source of truth for the PR CI result. It depends on GitHub CLI access to the active PR, so confirm that gh is authenticated before using it.

What it helps with

  • locate a failed check in a pull request
  • identify the first actionable error in job logs
  • trace a failure to its command or service
  • recheck CI after applying a focused fix

Example prompts for the agent

  • Run fix-ci on the current PR and identify the CI failure.
  • Use fix-ci to inspect failed checks and fix the first actionable error.
  • Ask fix-ci why CI is failing on this branch.
