What what-did-i-get-done does

The skill converts the requested period into dates, then finds commits authored with the current Git user email. It leaves out merge commits and uncommitted changes, and includes the date range in its summary.

The result is a short status update, with optional bullets for major changes. It favors substantial functional or architectural work and skips cosmetic edits such as formatting or minor renames. Because it matches the current Git email, commits authored under another configured address won’t appear.

What it helps with

  • draft a status update from yesterday’s commits
  • summarize work across a chosen date range
  • pull major shipped changes into a weekly recap
  • leave uncommitted edits out of a progress report

Example prompts for the agent

  • Summarize my commits from yesterday as a short status update.
  • Recap what I got done over the last week and include the date range.
  • Write a brief update on my major changes from the last few days.
