create-task — Claude Code skill: what it does, how to install
Adds new tasks to your Notion database with dates, assignees, and projects via the Notion MCP server.
npx skills add makenotion/cursor-notion-plugin --skill create-task -a claude-codeWhat create-task does
This workflow instructs the coding assistant to parse task requests into structured fields: title, due date, status, assignee, and related project. It scans Notion for an appropriate task tracking table based on title and description cues.
Ambiguity halts execution early. Whenever multiple target databases turn up or crucial properties are missing, the agent asks a short clarifying question instead of writing records blindly. The skill relies entirely on an active Notion MCP server connection; without that integration configured, database operations will fail.
Once the row is appended, the skill outputs a summary containing the title, linked attributes, and a direct URL or ID.
What it helps with
- file Notion tasks directly from terminal coding sessions
- map due dates, statuses, and assignees to database fields automatically
- disambiguate multiple project boards before logging tasks
Example prompts for the agent
- Add a Notion task to draft release notes before tomorrow afternoon
- Create a high-priority bug task for payment checkout assigned to me under the Core project
