cmux-keyboard-shortcuts — Claude Code skill: setup & guide
Configures cmux shortcuts in ~/.config/cmux/cmux.json. Useful for adopting tmux-style chords, auditing overrides, and validating syntax.
npx skills add manaflow-ai/cmux --skill cmux-keyboard-shortcuts -a claude-codeWhat cmux-keyboard-shortcuts does
The skill inspects, unbinds, and updates keybindings inside ~/.config/cmux/cmux.json under the shortcuts.bindings path. It relies on the cmux-settings helper script to read JSONC, write atomically, and validate action keys. It handles single keystrokes like cmd+b, chord sequences like ctrl+b c, and unbinding actions via null.
You must have an accessible cmux-settings script from a cmux checkout or local skill path. The system-wide shortcut showHideAllWindows will fail to trigger unless you first check Enable System-Wide Hotkey inside the application settings. Changes reload live on save. No restart is needed.
What it helps with
- apply tmux-style keybindings to cmux
- unbind conflicting shortcut actions
- validate syntax in cmux.json
- audit custom keyboard overrides
