What cli-compression does

This skill guides the agent on how to manage prompt compression using the omniroute CLI. It checks compression status and tunes Caveman aggressiveness directly from the terminal. You can also configure RTK token budgets or change compression engines.

Using it requires the omniroute binary available locally via npm install -g omniroute or npx omniroute. Without this dependency, command execution fails. You can also define custom pattern replacement rules via compression add or inspect output using compression preview --file <path>.

What it helps with

  • tune prompt compression aggressiveness with Caveman rules
  • manage token budgets via RTK filters
  • preview compressed prompts from a file before execution
  • add pattern-based text replacement rules via the CLI

Example prompts for the agent

  • Check the current compression status using `omniroute compression status`
  • Configure Caveman aggressiveness and RTK budget with `omniroute compression configure`
  • Preview compression on a prompt file using `omniroute compression preview --file test_prompt.txt`
