What cli-plugins-skills does

This skill documents the omniroute CLI, which covers three areas: Omni Skills, plugins and persistent memory. Skills can be searched, inspected, installed at a chosen version, enabled, disabled, deleted and executed with JSON input or an input file plus a timeout. Separate subcommands list categories, featured entries and past executions.

Plugins follow the same pattern — list, install, remove, info, search, update, and plugin scaffold <name> to generate a starting point. Memory has its own group: search with a type filter and a limit, add from text or a file with metadata, list, fetch by id, delete, and clear by age. Search and add take an --api-key flag, so the key has to be passed explicitly.

The CLI itself installs globally with npm install -g omniroute, or you can run it through npx omniroute. Check the version with omniroute --version. Destructive commands ask for confirmation, so scripts need --yes — otherwise the command sits waiting on the prompt.

What it helps with

  • install a skill from the marketplace and enable it in one go
  • find skills by category or tag
  • generate a scaffold for a new plugin
  • add a memory entry from a file
  • wipe old memory records with a single command

Example prompts for the agent

  • List the installed skills and show which ones are enabled
  • Search skills tagged pdf and show the first ten
  • Add the contents of notes.md to memory with type note

Questions about cli-plugins-skills

How do I install cli-plugins-skills in Claude Code?

Run npx skills add cheaper-inference/OmniRoute --skill cli-plugins-skills -a claude-code. The skill file then lands at ~/.claude/skills/cli-plugins-skills/SKILL.md.

What does cli-plugins-skills do?

It describes the omniroute subcommands for Omni Skills, plugins and persistent memory — searching, installing, enabling, removing and executing skills, plus searching and adding memory records.

What do I need before the commands work?

Install the CLI first with npm install -g omniroute, or invoke it via npx omniroute. Memory commands and some skill operations need a key passed with the --api-key flag.
