What academic-paper-reviewer does

academic-paper-reviewer examines a paper through five seats: journal fit, three peer-review roles, and a Devil's Advocate. The reviewer personas adapt to the paper's field. The result includes separate review perspectives plus an editorial decision and revision roadmap.

It supports full review, re-review, quick assessment, methodology focus, Socratic guidance, and calibration. Requests about reviewing a paper, manuscript, or referee report trigger the skill. The five seats separate viewpoints, but that separation is not a claim that the error-finding processes are independent.

For Claude Code, installation uses npx skills add; the skill file is then available at ~/.claude/skills/academic-paper-reviewer/SKILL.md. The skill also has install paths for Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI, and OpenCode, with platform-specific commands.
