Yokka — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
Connects your coding agent to a Yokka board where it picks up cards, tracks checklists, and reports blockers. Handy for managing autonomous workflows.
claude mcp add --transport http yokka https://api.yokka.ai/mcpWhat Yokka does
The server wires your AI assistant directly into a live Yokka board. An agent inspects assigned cards, parses the issue details, follows a step-by-step checklist, and attaches the resulting pull request URL once done. Whenever questions arise or blockers pop up, the model posts them into the card discussion.
A built-in stop hook enforces accountability. Claude Code triggers stop_check at the end of each turn, preventing the model from quitting while a task is still marked in progress without an explanation. Running /yokka:setup-repo writes project context into CLAUDE.md or AGENTS.md so subsequent sessions check the queue automatically.
Setup requires an API token generated in the Yokka agent settings. Without this credential, server requests fail immediately.
What it helps with
- assign coding tasks to AI agents via kanban cards
- prevent agents from quitting mid-task without leaving status updates
- log pull request links and task summaries directly to board items
- configure repositories to check board queues on startup
Example prompts for the agent
- /yokka:next
- /yokka:work 15
- /yokka:status

Questions about Yokka
How to install Yokka in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add --transport http yokka https://api.yokka.ai/mcp in your terminal. You will also need your personal token from your Yokka workspace settings to authenticate.
What does the Stop hook do?
It runs a status check before the assistant closes a turn. If an agent tries to exit while a card remains in progress without an update, the hook blocks the exit.
How does /yokka:setup-repo configure a project?
It inserts a reference to the corresponding Yokka board inside CLAUDE.md or AGENTS.md. Future agent runs will automatically check for pending cards.
