Weather & Geo Intel MCP — Claude Code MCP server
Connects AI agents to US weather forecasts, severe storm alerts, earthquake records, and address geocoding without requiring API tokens.
claude mcp add --transport http us-weather-forecast-alerts https://weather.datakoot.com/mcpWhat Weather & Geo Intel MCP does
The server exposes an HTTP endpoint at https://weather.datakoot.com/mcp without local package builds or secret managers. It retrieves open public domain records from US government agencies, including the National Weather Service (NOAA), the US Geological Survey (USGS), and the US Census Bureau.
Six tools are available inside the context. Agents can translate street addresses with geocode, pull hourly or extended outlooks via weather_forecast, read station conditions with weather_current, query active state advisories with weather_alerts, and query geological metrics through earthquakes and elevation.
Data coverage stops at US borders. When working with raw street locations, the model must trigger geocode beforehand so coordinates can feed the downstream weather tools.
What it helps with
- fetch hourly and multi-day US weather outlooks
- monitor active severe weather watches by state
- convert American street addresses into coordinates
- track recent earthquakes filtered by magnitude
- look up surface elevation for specific coordinates
Example prompts for the agent
- Check the current weather conditions and upcoming rain forecast for Seattle
- Find active weather watches or warnings across Texas
- Geocode an address in Denver and look up its ground elevation
