Vessel Browser — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
Connects coding agents to an interactive Chromium browser window. It lets you monitor web actions in real time and approve clicks or form inputs manually.
claude mcp add vessel-browser -- npx -y @quanta-intellect/vessel-browserWhat Vessel Browser does
Vessel connects external coding agents to an active Chromium browser interface. Instead of running headless scripts in the background, it renders web pages in a normal window. You can watch the agent follow links, inspect DOM elements, and fill out forms. The supervisor sidebar at Ctrl+Shift+L provides a unified run inbox, conversation threads, and change tracking.
Human oversight stays central to the workflow. The assistant asks for permission before executing sensitive actions, allowing one-time approvals, domain-specific rules, or rejections with steering instructions. When an automation run goes off course, you can pause it, revert recent steps, or take manual control of the mouse. A built-in developer tools panel at F12 logs console events, network traffic, and MCP traces.
Because the runtime is in active development, avoid pointing it at sensitive banking or production credentials. Linux is currently the most mature environment, supported via AppImage and Snap. Running it on macOS requires compiling from source code using Node.js 22.
What it helps with
- watch agent browsing actions inside a visible browser window
- require human confirmation before submitting sensitive web forms
- pause automated tasks and steer the model when it takes a wrong turn
- inspect network traffic and agent MCP logs in the
F12developer panel
Example prompts for the agent
- Open the pricing page on the current site and extract the tier breakdown.
- Fill out the contact form with sample data, but wait for my approval before submitting.
- Read the active article, summarize the main points, and check the references in new tabs.
