android · us-all — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
Inspects Android hardware and emulators through direct ADB commands. Gathers logs, memory traces, and crash details inside your AI workspace.
claude mcp add --env ADB_PATH=<ADB_PATH> --env ANDROID_HOME=<ANDROID_HOME> --env ANDROID_SERIAL=<ANDROID_SERIAL> --env ANDROID_TOOLS=<ANDROID_TOOLS> --env ANDROID_DISABLE=<ANDROID_DISABLE> --transport stdio us-all-android -- npx -y @us-all/android-mcpWhat android does
The server exposes 76 diagnostic utilities covering logcat, package metadata, system properties, and running processes. It avoids external test frameworks like Appium or uiautomator2. Official ADB commands run directly via Node.js sub-processes.
Built-in prompts handle crash extraction and memory audits. Composite calls like device-health return battery and memory metrics together. Tools are organized across 9 groups, which you can selectively filter with ANDROID_TOOLS or ANDROID_DISABLE to keep context windows compact.
Write actions remain disabled by default. You need a working ADB executable on your system path and active USB debugging. State modifications and terminal access require enabling ANDROID_MCP_ALLOW_WRITE and ANDROID_MCP_ALLOW_SHELL.
What it helps with
- extract crash stack traces from logcat output
- track heap allocations and detect memory leaks
- audit sensitive permissions granted to installed packages
- measure cold-start duration and launch timings for app activities
Example prompts for the agent
- Inspect the latest crash on the active emulator and extract the stack trace for com.example.app.
- Run device-health to inspect memory, CPU load, and battery status on the connected phone.
- Audit third-party applications holding camera and location access.

Questions about android
How to install android in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add android -- npx -y @us-all/android-mcp in your terminal. You can also append flags using --env to specify SDK paths and permission toggles.
What prerequisites are required?
You must have ADB installed on your PATH or configured via ADB_PATH. The target emulator or physical Android phone must have USB debugging switched on.
How does it handle device security and write access?
The server blocks write actions and arbitrary shell execution by default. You have to explicitly set ANDROID_MCP_ALLOW_WRITE or ANDROID_MCP_ALLOW_SHELL to true.
