transfa — Claude Code MCP server for file uploads
Let an agent upload a local file and return a download link. Useful when you need to share a project artifact without uploading it yourself.
claude mcp add --env TRANSFA_API_KEY=<TRANSFA_API_KEY> --env TRANSFA_BASE_URL=<TRANSFA_BASE_URL> --transport stdio transfa -- npx -y transfa-mcpWhat transfa does
transfa gives an agent a way to send files from the local filesystem and provide download links. It calculates a SHA-256 checksum for uploads, and links have a time limit set through TTL. Start the server with npx -y transfa-mcp.
To add it to Claude Code, use claude mcp add. The install command takes a TRANSFA_API_KEY; guest mode works without one, with a 10 MB file cap and a 24h link lifetime. That cap matters if the agent needs to transfer a larger artifact.
What it helps with
- share a local project file with an agent
- create a download link for an uploaded file
- check an uploaded file's SHA-256 checksum
- set an expiry period for a file link
Example prompts for the agent
- Upload
dist/report.pdfand give me its download link. - Send
model.ggufand report its SHA-256 checksum. - Upload
archive.zipwith a 24h link lifetime.
