mcp-me — Claude Code MCP server for your AI profile
mcp-me gives an AI assistant MCP access to a structured profile of your skills, work history, projects, and interests. Use it when replies need personal context.
claude mcp add --env MCP_ME_PROFILE_DIR=<MCP_ME_PROFILE_DIR> --transport stdio mcp-me -- npx -y mcp-meWhat mcp-me does
The server reads profile data from YAML files and makes it available to an assistant through MCP. Run mcp-me init to create the templates, then use mcp-me generate to fill them from configured sources. Most sources work without API keys.
The profile can hold details about your identity, skills, projects, career, goals, and interests. Plugins can also provide live data when the assistant requests it, including GitHub repository information and Last.fm listening activity. Profile files stay on your machine.
Node.js 20 or later is required to run the commands. You can set a different profile location with MCP_ME_PROFILE_DIR.
What it helps with
- give an assistant context about your skills and work history
- populate profile files from public data sources
- share project details and goals with an AI assistant
- let an assistant query live data from enabled plugins
Example prompts for the agent
- Write a cover letter using the experience, skills, and projects in my profile.
- Describe my projects and pick the ones that fit this task.
- What skills and interests are in my profile?
