Talent Summoner — Claude Code MCP server: candidate sourcing
Hooks your agent up to Talent Summoner so it can draft a candidate profile, search for people, build a shortlist and prepare outreach. Handy when hiring runs from the chat.
claude mcp add --transport http talent-summoner https://talentsummoner.com/api/mcpWhat Talent Summoner does
The server hands the agent sourcing tools. It writes a draft ideal-candidate profile before searching, so you can edit it first, then runs the search and sharpens criteria within the same session. Results can be reviewed, moved into a shortlist, and work emails requested — all in conversation.
The connection is remote, at https://talentsummoner.com/api/mcp, over Streamable HTTP. Auth is OAuth 2.1 with PKCE, or an API key passed as a Bearer token. The Claude Code plugin skips the key: it asks you to sign in to your Talent Summoner account the first time a tool runs. Everywhere else the setup command npx @talent-summoner/setup does the wiring, and it needs Node.js 22.20 or newer plus an interactive macOS, Linux, PowerShell or Command Prompt terminal.
Never paste the API key into agent chats, shell commands or Git. Running both the Claude Code plugin and npx @talent-summoner/setup in the same agent duplicates tools and the skill, so pick one. To disconnect, use **Settings → Connected apps** in Talent Summoner; for the setup route, revoke the key and remove the MCP entry and skill.
What it helps with
- draft a candidate profile before searching
- find people matching criteria and narrow the pool
- shortlist candidates without leaving the chat
- request work email addresses for picked candidates
- prepare outreach and send it after review
Example prompts for the agent
- Show my Talent Summoner sourcing sessions
- Shortlist the candidates you found and draft them a message — send it once I approve
