stock-scanner-mcp connects an agent to tools for stock and crypto research. It can screen equities by filters, return RSI, MACD, Bollinger Bands, and moving averages, inspect options chains, parse insider activity, follow earnings and news, and retrieve macroeconomic and forex data. The server exposes 49 tools without API keys; keys for Finnhub, Alpha Vantage, and FRED add 20 more.
It runs through npx. In Claude Code, add it with the command below and pass the three environment variables. A stateful workspace can be enabled with --enable-workspace; it stores a trader profile, watchlists, and thesis notes in ~/.stock-scanner-mcp. Without the API keys, modules that depend on those market-data services will not provide their data, so quotes, news, earnings, and economic indicators require the relevant keys.
