Statuser — Claude Code MCP server: features and setup
Connect an AI assistant to Statuser to check services, handle incidents, and update status pages. An account API key is required.
claude mcp add --env STATUSER_API_KEY=<STATUSER_API_KEY> --env STATUSER_ALLOW_WRITE=<STATUSER_ALLOW_WRITE> --env STATUSER_TOOLSETS=<STATUSER_TOOLSETS> --transport stdio statuser -- npx -y @statuser/mcpWhat Statuser does
The server lets an assistant work with Statuser service data: check current states and monitoring history, investigate incidents, update status pages, and manage notifications. Account and project settings are available too. Requests act as the API key’s owner, so plan limits still apply.
Choose the hosted Streamable HTTP endpoint or run the local server with npx -y @statuser/mcp. The local option requires Node.js 18.17 or newer. In Claude Code, setup passes the API key as an environment variable. OAuth-only clients cannot connect; changes through the hosted endpoint need confirmation in each call.
What it helps with
- check the current state of monitored services
- inspect an incident and review its diagnostics
- post an update to a status page
- configure notification rules for subscriber channels
- review DNS change history
Example prompts for the agent
- Check the Statuser service states and show their monitoring history.
- Investigate the latest incident and prepare a report on its timings.
- Post an update about planned maintenance to the status page.
