Soundza — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
Finds, downloads, and generates sound effects and background audio directly in your coding agent. Ideal when adding audio to games or UI projects.
claude mcp add --transport http soundza https://mcp.soundza.com/mcp/oauthWhat Soundza does
This server connects agents to audio libraries. Agents filter files using search_sounds and search_packs based on tempo, musical key, and duration across thousands of entries. Every item contains 35 metadata fields. Tool download_sound then provides a direct download link, a sound page reference, and a prepared curl command.
When standard files do not match your project, generate_sound synthesizes a brand new effect from a text prompt. Synthesized audio maxes out at 10 seconds per clip, with a weekly limit of 250 free creations.
Clients lacking browser-based OAuth must supply an authorization token via HTTP headers, because calls will fail without authentication. All library audio is cleared for personal and commercial distribution without mandatory credits.
What it helps with
- find game audio assets filtered by tempo, key, and mood
- generate custom short sound effects from text prompts
- fetch direct download URLs and curl commands for project assets
- pull themed music and ambience packs into a workspace
Example prompts for the agent
- Find a coin pickup sound and a jump effect for my 2D platformer
- Generate a two-second sound of a heavy vault door closing
- Download the selected ambience file directly into assets/sounds
