What simplifier-mcp does

The server opens your Simplifier instance to the agent. It can browse and create connectors, handle logins, work with business objects and data types, run server-side JavaScript functions with parameters, and fire connector calls at outside systems. Platform documentation is reachable too.

Two surfaces carry the same data. Clients that speak MCP Resources read it through URIs such as simplifier://businessobjects, simplifier://connector/{name} or simplifier://documentation/…. Clients limited to MCP Tools get equivalent read access from *-list, *-get, documentation-get and connector-wizard-rfc-search. One implementation sits behind both, so results match; where both exist, resources win.

A token is required. The preferred option is a personal access token in SIMPLIFIER_APITOKEN, sent as the ApiToken header and stable across logins. You can instead set SIMPLIFIER_TOKEN or point SIMPLIFIER_CREDENTIALS_FILE at a JSON file holding user and pass. Only one of the three may be present. With SIMPLIFIER_TOKEN you have to drop the MCP config and re-add it after every Simplifier login, because the token rotates. REST, SOAP, SQL, SAPRFC and OData connectors are fully supported; OData is proxy-only and cannot run connector calls. On an on-premise install the DEV instance URL in SIMPLIFIER_BASE_URL follows a different pattern.

What it helps with

  • list the connectors available in a Simplifier instance
  • create a business object and run its function with arguments
  • call an external system through a REST or SOAP connector
  • inspect data type structures before wiring up an integration
  • pull the right documentation page without leaving the agent

Example prompts for the agent

  • List every connector in my Simplifier instance
  • Run the OrderSync business object function with these parameters
  • Find the docs on setting up an SAPRFC connector

Questions about simplifier-mcp

How do I install simplifier-mcp in Claude Code?

Run `claude mcp add simplifier-mcp -e SIMPLIFIER_TOKEN=<SIMPLIFIER_TOKEN> -e SIMPLIFIER_BASE_URL=<SIMPLIFIER_BASE_URL> -- npx -y @simplifierag/simplifier-mcp. Alternatively use claude mcp add --env SIMPLIFIER_TOKEN=<SIMPLIFIER_TOKEN> --env SIMPLIFIER_BASE_URL=<SIMPLIFIER_BASE_URL> --transport stdio simplifier-mcp -- npx -y @simplifierag/simplifier-mcp`.

What does simplifier-mcp do?

It gives the assistant access to a Simplifier instance: connectors, logins, business objects, data types, server-side function runs and connector calls to external systems.

Which token does it need?

A personal access token in SIMPLIFIER_APITOKEN, configured once. Alternatives are SIMPLIFIER_TOKEN, which changes after each login, or SIMPLIFIER_CREDENTIALS_FILE pointing at a JSON file. Set only one of the three.
