Serpel — Claude Code MCP server for site SEO data
Hooks your assistant up to SEO data for your own projects: rankings, Search Console, audits, competitors. Handy when you want traffic answers inside the chat.
claude mcp add --transport http mcp https://serpel.app/mcpWhat Serpel does
Serpel ships an MCP server and a single skill that tells the assistant which tool fits which question. There is no program code and no hooks — just manifests and the skill file. Tools read your Serpel account data and never touch your site.
Free tools cover your projects with IDs and domains, audit score, tracked keywords with positions and movement, clicks and impressions from Search Console or Bing, queries sitting on positions 4 to 20, competitor visibility, issues from the latest crawl, citations in ChatGPT answers and Google AI Overviews, background job status, prioritised recommendations with impact and effort, routes and metadata from the codebase snapshot, and conversions per landing page. Every list returns at most 25 rows.
One tool is different: research_keywords returns keyword ideas with volume, difficulty and intent, and it burns credits. ChatGPT does not offer it at all. Elsewhere it needs an active Starter or Pro plan plus the workspace setting that lets agents spend credits, and a daily agent credit limit applies. Run out of credits and that one tool stops working; everything else stays free.
What it helps with
- check keyword positions and how they moved since the last check
- compare Search Console clicks and impressions with the previous period
- surface queries on positions 4 to 20 that have impressions
- sort the latest crawl issues by severity
- see how often the site gets cited in ChatGPT answers and AI Overviews
Example prompts for the agent
- List my Serpel projects with the audit score for each
- Which keywords dropped since the last rank check?
- Find queries on positions 4 to 20 that already get impressions
