What Search Console MCP does

Search Console MCP exposes four services through a single tool set. Your agent calls them and answers questions about traffic, rankings and earnings without hopping between dashboards. The server runs the analysis itself — cannibalization, anomaly detection, revenue attribution — before anything reaches the context window.

A parallel fetch engine sits behind the tools: with engine: "all" Google, Bing and GA4 are queried at the same time. Roughly 96 older tool names still resolve through a fallback router. Write operations such as sitemaps_submit and sitemaps_delete need an explicit webmasters write scope and an inline re-authorization; setup leaves the server read-only.

You need GOOGLE_APPLICATION_CREDENTIALS, BING_API_KEY and PAGESPEED_API_KEY in the environment. AdSense is opt-in via setup --engine=adsense and asks for the adsense.readonly scope. SSE transport is deprecated and goes away in the next release, so stick with stdio. Miss the keys and the server will not start.

What it helps with

  • pull Google and Bing traffic into one answer
  • spot pages competing for the same queries
  • tell whether a revenue drop came from traffic or RPM
  • export an AdSense earnings report sorted by amount
  • check rankings and anomalies without manual VLOOKUPs

Example prompts for the agent

  • Show me queries where my pages compete against each other for the same phrases
  • Compare Google and Bing traffic for last month and flag the dips
  • Pull the AdSense earnings report sorted by estimated earnings

Questions about Search Console MCP

How do I install Search Console MCP in Claude Code?

Run `claude mcp add search-console-mcp -e GOOGLE_APPLICATION_CREDENTIALS=<GOOGLE_APPLICATION_CREDENTIALS> -e BING_API_KEY=<BING_API_KEY> -e PAGESPEED_API_KEY=<PAGESPEED_API_KEY> -- npx -y search-console-mcp. A second form uses --env flags with --transport stdio`.

What does Search Console MCP do?

It puts Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, GA4 and AdSense behind one set of tools an AI agent can call. The server computes cannibalization, anomalies and revenue attribution before the data hits your context.

Do I need API keys to run it?

Yes. Set GOOGLE_APPLICATION_CREDENTIALS, BING_API_KEY and PAGESPEED_API_KEY in the environment. AdSense is enabled separately and requires approving the adsense.readonly scope.
