seo-mcp — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
Runs 91 search optimization and AI-readability checks on web pages directly from your AI development assistant.
claude mcp add --transport http seo-mcp https://mcp.metricspot.com/mcpWhat seo-mcp does
This server connects AI agents to MetricSpot audit infrastructure through six dedicated tools. The primary run_audit action performs full page evaluations with PageSpeed Insights metrics grouped into 11 modules. After completing an evaluation, agents can inspect detailed findings via get_audit, generate a signed PDF download link, or pull a 28-day traffic snapshot from linked Google Analytics 4 and Search Console accounts.
You can connect via a hosted streamable HTTP endpoint or run it locally through stdio using npx. If you run without an MCP_API_KEY, the server limits you strictly to run_audit_anonymous. That unauthenticated mode restricts usage to one execution per IP every 24 hours and strips out Core Web Vitals metrics entirely.
What it helps with
- audit web page readability for search engines and AI scrapers
- generate signed links for downloadable PDF audit reports
- retrieve a 28-day organic traffic summary from GA4 and Search Console
- evaluate page markup and structure across 91 separate checks
Example prompts for the agent
- Run an anonymous audit on my staging site
- Execute a full audit with run_audit and review the findings
- Fetch the 28-day organic traffic metrics for the verified property
