What Redbark does

Redbark gives an agent live access to account details, balances, transactions, holdings, and trades. It can also read and change Redbark settings, including syncs, destinations, categories, and rules. Changes affect Redbark configuration, not bank accounts.

The server runs remotely, so there is no local service to install or launch. It uses HTTP and supports browser-based OAuth 2.1 consent or an API key. Access requires a Redbark Developer or Professional account; API access is included in the free trial.

Banking data is fetched from its source when requested, and the agent does not receive banking credentials. Tools are limited by the permissions granted during consent. Brokerage data requires the separate brokerage:read scope.

What it helps with

  • check account balances and consent expiry
  • summarise spending by category for a date range
  • create a sync for a chosen destination
  • find the cause of a failed sync run
  • review brokerage holdings and trades

Example prompts for the agent

  • Show my account balances, grouped by bank connection.
  • Summarise last month’s spending by category and identify the largest transactions.
  • Inspect the latest failed sync run and suggest what to do next.
