What Qase Test Management does

The server exposes 42 tools to interact with Qase directly from chat. 40 task-focused tools handle composite operations like defect triage, CI test run reporting, and regression suite assembly in single steps. Built-in Qase Query Language (QQL) support lets assistants search across test runs, cases, and defect logs with structured filters.

Connection depends on your Qase tier. Paid accounts can use the hosted endpoint at https://mcp.qase.io/mcp (or https://mcp-eu.qase.io/mcp for the EU cluster) without handling tokens. Free tier teams must run the package locally via npx and pass their own QASE_API_TOKEN.

Approving and merging test case reviews remains restricted to the Qase web UI. An assistant can submit draft changes, assign reviewers, or check status, but cannot approve them. Direct REST calls remain possible via the fallback qase_api tool when specific endpoints are needed.

What it helps with

  • file defect tickets in Qase from automated test failures
  • report CI execution results back to active test runs
  • query test cases and defect histories using QQL
  • inspect suite hierarchies and project milestone context

Example prompts for the agent

  • File a blocker defect in project DEMO for the authentication timeout in run #42
  • Submit test run results to DEMO: case 101 passed, case 102 failed with connection reset
  • Fetch project DEMO structure including test suites, milestones, and active environments
