Under the hood it talks to the Planfix REST API. The toolset covers tasks (get_tasks, get_task, create_task, update_task), CRM records (get_contacts, get_contact, create_contact, update_contact), projects, comments, employees, directories and custom fields. Two skills ship alongside: skill-my-tasks pulls today's and overdue items, skill-create-task walks through creating a task with a project picked.
Start it with npx -y @theyahia/planfix-mcp. Two variables are mandatory. PLANFIX_API_KEY comes from Account management → API access → REST API. PLANFIX_ACCOUNT is the subdomain, the mycompany part of mycompany.planfix.com. Skip the subdomain and nothing connects, since the REST API has no shared host. Regional installations take an optional PLANFIX_HOST, defaulting to planfix.com.
A Streamable HTTP mode exists: --http 8080 serves http://localhost:8080/mcp with a health check at http://localhost:8080/health. Two gaps matter. The priority field in create_task goes through as a raw string and its accepted values were never checked against the live API. Uploading a local file and time tracking are absent; only upload_file_from_url takes a direct link.
