Pacioli — Claude Code MCP server: setup and features
Pacioli gives agents governed access to ERPNext through MCP and A2A. It suits workflows where document submissions and cancellations need consent checks.
claude mcp add pacioli -- uvx pacioliWhat Pacioli — the ERPNext broker you can hand the books does
Pacioli connects an agent to ERPNext over MCP and A2A. Its foundation is pacioli-guard, a Frappe/ERPNext app that checks API credentials and consent for document submissions or cancellations. Authentication and document lifecycle hooks enforce those checks. A ledger preview needs the same consent marker as a submission, but does not consume it.
The API-key check does not cover OAuth2 Bearer tokens, desk sessions, or background jobs. Writes that bypass the document lifecycle, such as raw SQL or db_set, also bypass the consent check. Coverage therefore has defined boundaries. In Claude Code, the MCP server can be started with uvx pacioli.
What it helps with
- check API credentials on ERPNext requests
- require consent before submitting a document
- check consent before cancelling a document
- enforce consent for ledger previews
Example prompts for the agent
- Check which ERPNext document actions need consent through Pacioli.
- Submit this ERPNext document through Pacioli after checking consent.
- Prepare an ERPNext ledger preview through Pacioli.
