What OwnerSpec does

The server runs over streamable HTTP at https://ownerspec.com/mcp. It needs no API tokens. Any MCP-compatible client connects directly via stateless JSON-RPC 2.0 POST requests.

The service exposes eight tools to the model. Agents can search documentation, extract concise answers citing sources like the EPA or WQA, and convert water hardness figures across units such as gpg, dH, and mg/L. Sizing tools compute grain capacity requirements using the same formulas published on the main site.

Part searches and product selections yield Amazon affiliate links. The server always flags these outputs via a dedicated disclosure attribute. No local runtime is needed because the service runs remotely.

What it helps with

  • convert water hardness ratings between gpg, dH, and mg/L
  • calculate grain capacity and softener size for household water systems
  • look up replacement filter cartridges and UV lamps by model number
  • retrieve cited standards from EPA and WQA for home plumbing issues

Example prompts for the agent

  • Convert 15 gpg water hardness to mg/L and show the USGS hardness band
  • Size a water softener based on daily water use and hardness levels
  • Find compatible replacement cartridges for my sediment filter model
