Orbit · noveum — Claude Code MCP server: tasks and boards over OAuth

Lets an AI agent reach Orbit issues, boards and docs through OAuth. Useful when the agent should read the board and file work on its own.

What Orbit does

Orbit is a free task manager with issues, sprints, projects and docs. Its MCP server exposes that data to an agent, so it can see the board, pull context from existing tickets and create new work without you switching tabs.

Access runs on OAuth and is scoped to your account. The agent sees what you see and nothing beyond that. No separate API key to hand out: sign-in happens against https://orbit.noveum.ai/mcp.

Setup is a single HTTP transport command in Claude Code, Codex or Gemini CLI; Cursor and GitHub Copilot take a JSON block instead. The endpoint points at Noveum's hosted instance. Run Orbit yourself and this server won't talk to your copy.

What it helps with

  • read the board without leaving the editor
  • file a ticket straight from a chat
  • check for duplicates before creating an issue
  • pull project context into a code change
  • see what is already in the current sprint

Example prompts for the agent

  • List my open Orbit issues for this week
  • Create an Orbit issue for the auth module refactor
  • Find existing Orbit issues about the failing build

Questions about Orbit

How do I install Orbit in Claude Code?

Run claude mcp add --transport http orbit https://orbit.noveum.ai/mcp. That registers the server over HTTP transport, and sign-in goes through OAuth.

What does Orbit do?

It is the MCP server for the Orbit task tracker. An agent can read issues, projects and docs, and create new work, using the permissions your account already has.

Does it work with a self-hosted Orbit install?

The configured endpoint is https://orbit.noveum.ai/mcp, which is Noveum's hosted server. Your own deployment is not covered by this connection.
