What Open Legal Chile does

The server exposes Chilean public sources to your agent: BCN, PJUD, CGR, DT, SII, CMF, SMA and TDLC. Every connector talks to open state repositories, so no signup or paid key is involved.

For confidential case files you can route work through Ollama and open models. Contracts and court papers then stay on your own machine.

Installation runs through uvx, which means uv has to sit in PATH — without it claude mcp add fails. The README also covers manual JSON setup for Cursor and GitHub Copilot.

What it helps with

  • pull a specific article from Código Civil or Ley Karin
  • check Corte Suprema rulings by case number
  • OCR a scanned filing
  • cross-reference doctrine on a point of law
  • drop a CMF or SII norm into a draft

Example prompts for the agent

  • Find article 1545 of the Código Civil and show the text
  • Check what Corte Suprema says in rol 12.345-2023
  • OCR contrato.pdf and list the parties
