Miro — Claude Code MCP server: board tools and installation
Connect an AI agent to Miro boards to inspect them, add items, and build diagrams. Useful for planning sessions and retrospectives.
claude mcp add --env MIRO_ACCESS_TOKEN=<MIRO_ACCESS_TOKEN> --transport stdio olgasafonova-miro -- docker run -i --rm -e MIRO_ACCESS_TOKEN ghcr.io/olgasafonova/miro-mcp-server:1.25.0What Miro does
The server exposes 110 tools for working with boards and their contents. An agent can add sticky notes, shapes, text, cards, and documents, manage tags and groups, create mindmap nodes, and turn Mermaid descriptions into diagrams. It can also upload local images and documents to a board.
You need a Miro token with boards:read and boards:write permissions. The server runs in Docker and receives the token through MIRO_ACCESS_TOKEN. PDF and SVG board exports require Enterprise. This is a community project, not an official Miro product.
What it helps with
- add sticky notes and shapes to a board
- turn a Mermaid description into a diagram
- build a mindmap with parent-child nodes
- upload a local image or document to a board
- export a board as PDF or SVG with Enterprise
Example prompts for the agent
- Add a yellow sticky note to the board that says “Review PRs.”
- Create a flowchart with a start, a decision, and an end.
- Make a mindmap with “Project Ideas” as its root.
