What CLIO Adios does

CLIO Adios gives an agent a way to retrieve and analyze scientific data in BP5 files. It also exposes file metadata and attributes through ADIOS2, so you can ask about a dataset without writing a separate inspection script for each request.

To connect it to Claude Code, run claude mcp add clio-adios -- uvx clio-kit. This launches clio-kit; ADIOS2 is used to work with BP5 data. The command depends on uvx being available in your environment.

What it helps with

  • inspect scientific data in a BP5 file
  • examine metadata attached to a BP5 file
  • retrieve attributes from a dataset
  • explore a BP5 file through an agent

Example prompts for the agent

  • Show me the metadata and attributes in this BP5 file.
  • Help me inspect the contents of this BP5 dataset.
