mcp · ogmake — Claude Code MCP server for og:image generation
Generate og:image cards, build image URLs, and add framework-specific meta tag snippets from an AI assistant. Useful when a project needs share images from templates or rendered HTML.
claude mcp add mcp -e OGMAKE_API_KEY=<OGMAKE_API_KEY> -- npx -y ogmake-mcpWhat mcp does
The stdio server exposes tools to inspect registered image templates and their parameter schemas, render images, build URLs, and produce og:image and twitter:image snippets. Snippets cover HTML, Hugo, Jekyll, Rails, Laravel, Django, WordPress, and Ghost. A separate tool can turn raw HTML/CSS into PNG, JPG, WebP, or PDF.
Set OGMAKE_API_KEY for authenticated rendering, batch jobs, batch status, and usage checks. Without it, the server can list templates, create a watermarked image from a title, build an image URL, and generate a snippet. The free image result contains image bytes, not a hosted URL. Credentials are read from the environment at startup and are not returned in tool results, errors, or logs.
URL signing can run locally with OGMAKE_SIGNING_SECRET and OGMAKE_SIGNING_KEY_ID, keeping the signing secret off the model request. Unsigned URLs require a public key that allows the chosen template on ogmake.com. Batch rendering requires an API key.
What it helps with
- inspect available og:image templates and parameter schemas
- render a page card from a template
- create a watermarked image without an API key
- check a batch render's status and results
- generate framework-specific image meta tags
Example prompts for the agent
- Find an og:image template that fits this page and show its parameters.
- Render a social card for this page using an available template.
- Create an og:image meta tag snippet for this image URL in my Hugo project.
