mcp-pomelo — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
Connects your agent to Pomelo card issuing API across Latin America. It creates user identities, issues virtual or physical cards, and tracks transactions.
claude mcp add --env POMELO_CLIENT_ID=<POMELO_CLIENT_ID> --env POMELO_CLIENT_SECRET=<POMELO_CLIENT_SECRET> --env POMELO_ENV=<POMELO_ENV> --env POMELO_BASE_URL=<POMELO_BASE_URL> --env POMELO_AUTH_URL=<POMELO_AUTH_URL> --transport stdio pomelo -- npx -y @codespar/mcp-pomeloWhat mcp-pomelo does
The server provides nine tools to interact with Pomelo services in Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, and Chile. An assistant can register cardholder accounts, trigger virtual or physical Visa and Mastercard creation, toggle statuses such as ACTIVE or BLOCKED, and inspect transaction logs.
Running the package requires POMELO_CLIENT_ID and POMELO_CLIENT_SECRET. It handles OAuth2 client-credential authentication, caches tokens before expiry, and appends an x-idempotency-key header to mutating calls. The server targets the sandbox environment by default, with POMELO_ENV enabling production.
Card details like unmasked PAN or CVV codes are never returned because Pomelo serves them exclusively through isolated PCI widgets. Real-time swipe authorization decisions are handled outside this server through separate webhooks.
What it helps with
- issue physical or virtual cards for registered users
- freeze or disable compromised cards
- query transaction feeds and payment details
- update cardholder contact and address information
Example prompts for the agent
- Register a new cardholder and issue a virtual card for them
- Freeze the card with id
crd_12345 - Fetch the latest transactions for cardholder
