mcp-my-site — Claude Code MCP server: search your own site
Crawls your website into an index, then serves it to agents as search and fetch tools they can query.
claude mcp add --transport http mcp-my-site https://ai.pournasserian.com/mcpWhat mcp-my-site does
The mcpmysite CLI walks the site, splits pages into chunks and writes a hybrid index: BM25 term matching plus vector search over embeddings. A small ASP.NET Core app then exposes that index over MCP with two tools, search and fetch, and also as a JSON endpoint for a search box on the site itself. Each server handles one site, sized for sites under 1,000 pages.
You can start with no credentials at all. The first build is keyword-only, so no embedding provider is involved. Switching to hybrid later takes one setting and a rebuild. That mode needs a key for an OpenAI-compatible embeddings endpoint — OpenRouter unless you point it elsewhere — and the key is read from AI_API_KEY rather than stored in a file. If the provider is unreachable, search falls back to keywords instead of failing.
Everything runs on the .NET 10 SDK. Mount the index into the container or give the server a URL for it, and it polls the source so a fresh build goes live without a restart. There is a live instance indexing pournasserian.com if you want to poke at it before setting up your own.
What it helps with
- answer questions from your own site's pages instead of guessing
- give a coding agent search over project docs without a hosted service
- power a site search box from the JSON API
- move from keyword search to semantic search without a rewrite
- publish a rebuilt index while the server keeps running
Example prompts for the agent
- Search the site for the contact page and summarise how to reach the team
- Fetch the page about caching and list its main points
- Look through the index for anything about installation and give me the links

Questions about mcp-my-site
How do I install mcp-my-site in Claude Code?
Point Claude at the hosted endpoint: claude mcp add --transport http mcp-my-site https://ai.pournasserian.com/mcp. For your own site, run mcpmysite build, start the server, and pass its address in the same command.
What does mcp-my-site do?
It gives MCP clients search and fetch tools over one website's content. The agent queries the index and reads the pages it finds.
Do I need an API key?
Not for a keyword-only index. Hybrid search with embeddings needs a key for an OpenAI-compatible endpoint, OpenRouter by default, read from AI_API_KEY.
