google-mcp — Claude Code MCP server: Google Calendar and Sheets access
Connects your Google calendar and spreadsheets to an AI assistant. Sign in with Google, no Cloud project of your own.
claude mcp add --transport http google-mcp https://g.mcp.openbsp.dev/mcpWhat google-mcp does
The server speaks Streamable HTTP and runs at https://g.mcp.openbsp.dev/mcp. You skip the usual Google Cloud setup: sign in with Google, pick which products to connect, then copy the API key into your MCP client config. OAuth tokens sit encrypted at rest, and the encryption key is kept apart from the database.
Two tool groups ship with it. Calendar covers listing calendars and events, checking busy and free slots, plus creating, editing and removing events. Sheets covers reading and writing ranges, appending rows, creating spreadsheets, column schemas and row search, including search by meaning. Spreadsheet access is limited by the drive.file scope, so only files you picked during sign-in or files the app created are reachable. Call list_authorized_files to see what is available.
Your API key stays valid until you revoke it. Revoke with curl -X DELETE https://g.mcp.openbsp.dev/key/YOUR_API_KEY or from the Google permissions page. Either way the key stops working right away.
What it helps with
- check what is on the calendar this week
- book a meeting straight from the chat
- append rows to a budget spreadsheet
- find spreadsheet rows by meaning instead of exact text
- spin up a new spreadsheet and fill it
Example prompts for the agent
- List my calendar events for tomorrow
- Create an event with the team on Friday at 3pm
- Search
Budget.xlsxfor rows about marketing
