mcp-jumio — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
This MCP server connects an agent to Jumio for identity, document, liveness, and AML checks. It fits KYX workflows that need Jumio data.
claude mcp add --env JUMIO_API_TOKEN=<JUMIO_API_TOKEN> --env JUMIO_API_SECRET=<JUMIO_API_SECRET> --env JUMIO_USER_AGENT=<JUMIO_USER_AGENT> --env JUMIO_REGION=<JUMIO_REGION> --transport stdio jumio -- npx -y @codespar/mcp-jumioWhat mcp-jumio does
mcp-jumio exposes 20 Jumio tools to the agent. They can create an end-user account, start a KYC transaction, read its status and full decision, extract identity-document fields, compare a selfie with the document image, and inspect liveness. The server also handles credentials, facemaps, AML and watchlist results, callbacks, retries, cancellation, and GDPR deletion.
The main flow creates an account once, starts a transaction, and sends the user to the returned redirectUrl for capture. The agent then polls the transaction, reads the decision payload, gets document and face-match results, and sends back an APPROVED or REJECTED status. Jumio authentication uses HTTP Basic.
Set JUMIO_API_TOKEN, JUMIO_API_SECRET, and JUMIO_USER_AGENT before starting the server. JUMIO_REGION selects us, eu, or sg. Jumio rejects calls without a custom User-Agent, so the integration cannot reach the API without JUMIO_USER_AGENT.
What it helps with
- start a Jumio KYC transaction
- read identity fields from a document
- compare a selfie with the document photo
- inspect AML and watchlist results
- send a verification decision through a callback
Example prompts for the agent
- Create a Jumio end-user account and start a KYC transaction for it.
- Check the transaction status, then show the document fields and liveness result.
- Fetch the AML result for this transaction and set its merchant status to
APPROVEDwhen the checks pass.
