mcp-brasil-api — Claude Code MCP server: Brazilian data
Hands your agent Brazilian public data: addresses by CEP, companies by CNPJ, banks, holidays, weather and FIPE vehicle prices.
claude mcp add mcp-brasil-api -- npx -y @codespar/mcp-brasil-apiWhat mcp-brasil-api does
This MCP server wraps BrasilAPI, a free public source of Brazilian records. It ships 24 tools. get_cep and get_cep_v1 resolve a postal code to an address, get_cnpj pulls company details, get_banks and get_corretoras list banks and brokerages, while get_fipe_price and get_fipe_vehicles cover vehicle pricing. Weather comes from CPTEC/INPE, including METAR by ICAO code, alongside holidays for a given year, DDD area codes, ISBN, NCM and the Selic, CDI and IPCA rates.
It runs through npx, so nothing gets installed globally. There is no API key and no environment variable to set, because BrasilAPI answers anyone. In Claude one line is enough: claude mcp add brasil-api -- npx -y @codespar/mcp-brasil-api. Cursor and VS Code take the same server through .cursor/mcp.json or .vscode/mcp.json.
Every tool calls an outside public API, so when that API is down the calls fail. And if your project has nothing to do with Brazil, skip this one: the toolset is built entirely around its registries and reference tables. MIT licensed, source in codespar/mcp-dev-latam.
What it helps with
- resolve a Brazilian postal code to a street address
- pull company registration details from a CNPJ
- compare vehicle prices from the FIPE table
- check national holidays for a chosen year
- read a weather forecast or an airport METAR
Example prompts for the agent
- Look up the address for CEP 01310-100
- Show me the company data for CNPJ 00.000.000/0001-00
- What is the current weather at airport SBGR?

Questions about mcp-brasil-api
How do I install mcp-brasil-api in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add brasil-api -- npx -y @codespar/mcp-brasil-api. The server starts through npx, so you never install the package separately.
What does mcp-brasil-api do?
It gives the agent 24 tools against BrasilAPI: CEP and CNPJ lookups, bank and brokerage lists, holidays, CPTEC/INPE weather, the FIPE table, DDD, ISBN and NCM codes, plus current Selic, CDI and IPCA rates.
Does it need an API key or environment variables?
No. BrasilAPI is free and public, so there is no authentication and no environment variable to configure. Install the server and start querying.
