masv — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
Connects LLMs to the MASV API for large file transfer workflows. Inspect packages, control portals, and transfer assets between storages.
claude mcp add --env MASV_TEAM_ID=<MASV_TEAM_ID> --env MASV_API_KEY=<MASV_API_KEY> --env MASV_ALLOW_DELETE=<MASV_ALLOW_DELETE> --transport stdio masv -- npx -y @getmasv/masv-mcp-serverWhat masv does
This server exposes tools for interacting with the MASV managed transfer platform. An agent can list team packages, inspect files inside archives, inspect transfer logs, and extend link expiration times. It also handles portal configurations and team member queries.
Integration tools let the assistant browse remote files and dispatch packages into connected storage systems or through MASV Storage Gateway. Destructive actions stay protected out of the box. Package and portal deletions remain blocked unless MASV_ALLOW_DELETE=true is set.
The code targets modern JavaScript runtimes. It fails to run on environments older than Node.js 24 because of ES2024 features and direct type execution. Authentication requires both MASV_TEAM_ID and MASV_API_KEY tokens.
What it helps with
- inspect active packages and file contents in MASV
- create and update delivery portals for incoming files
- dispatch transfer packages directly into cloud storage
- adjust expiration dates on existing transfer links
Example prompts for the agent
- List all files included in MASV package
pkg_123 - Create an inbound MASV portal for partner deliveries
- Send package
pkg_456to our connected storage gateway
