OCI Pricing — Claude Code MCP server: Oracle Cloud costs
Feeds Oracle Cloud Infrastructure prices to your assistant, estimates monthly spend for a config and compares it against AWS, Azure and GCP.
claude mcp add oci-pricing-mcp -- npx -y oci-pricing-mcpWhat OCI Pricing does
The server hands an AI assistant OCI rates pulled from Oracle's public pricing API plus a bundled dataset. Ask what a VM with 4 OCPUs and 32GB of RAM costs and you get an hourly figure, a monthly one, and the Arm-based A1 shape next to it for contrast. Dedicated tools cover storage, databases, networking and Kubernetes — compare_data_egress lines OCI egress up against AWS, Azure and GCP, while compare_kubernetes_providers does the same for OKE versus EKS, AKS and GKE.
Over twenty tools sit inside, grouped by compute, storage, database, networking, Kubernetes, service categories and utilities such as get_free_tier for the Always Free list. Some of the older per-category tools are marked deprecated in favour of list_services_by_category, where you pass the category as one argument. There is a live mode too: fetch_realtime_pricing pulls the full catalog straight from Oracle's API.
The author is blunt about the limits: no guarantee the assistant reads prices correctly or spots the cheapest option. Check Oracle's official price list before you commit to anything. No authentication is involved and the calls cost nothing. It runs through npx, so Node.js has to be present.
What it helps with
- estimate the monthly bill for a VM with a given OCPU count and memory size
- compare block, object and file storage pricing at the same capacity
- work out egress charges and what the free transfer allowance covers
- size a Kubernetes cluster and weigh OKE against EKS, AKS and GKE
- budget a small web app or API server before provisioning anything
Example prompts for the agent
- What's the monthly cost of a VM.Standard.E5.Flex with 4 OCPUs and 32GB RAM?
- Estimate monthly cost for a Kubernetes cluster with 3 nodes

Questions about OCI Pricing
How do I install OCI Pricing in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add oci-pricing -- npx -y oci-pricing-mcp. The server then starts through npx on first use.
What does OCI Pricing do?
It gives the assistant Oracle Cloud Infrastructure rates and calculates costs for compute, storage, databases, networking and Kubernetes setups. Other tools compare those prices with AWS, Azure and GCP.
Do I need an Oracle API key or account?
No. Queries to Oracle's public API need no authentication and cost nothing, and part of the pricing data ships inside the server itself.
