LuxAlgo MCP — Claude Code MCP server: features and setup
Connect an AI agent to LuxAlgo reference material, a trade journal and market data. Use it to explore trading concepts or review account activity.
claude mcp add --transport http luxalgo-mcp-server https://mcp.luxalgo.com/mcpWhat LuxAlgo MCP does
The server gives agents access to a trading and technical-analysis library, setup statistics and public records related to US markets. It also includes a prop-firm challenge simulator and a directory of firm rules. Market-tracker entries link back to their source; the server does not produce trade signals or forecasts.
Journal features require a LuxAlgo account. Brokerage access runs locally and is read-only, with credentials kept on your machine. That boundary matters: brokerage tools are not part of the hosted server.
For Claude Code, run claude mcp add --transport http luxalgo-mcp https://mcp.luxalgo.com/mcp. Cursor can connect through its MCP configuration. Hosted public tools work without an API key.
What it helps with
- look up formulas for trading concepts
- compare setup statistics alongside their sample sizes
- trace US market records to their original sources
- test strategy results against a prop firm's rules
- inspect balances and trade history from a connected brokerage account
Example prompts for the agent
- Find the LuxAlgo reference entry with formulas for this trading concept.
- Compare opening-range breakout statistics and include the sample size.
- Test my trades against this prop firm's rules and estimate the chance of passing.
