lexware — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
Connects an agent to the Lexware Office API for invoices, contacts, articles, and vouchers. Useful when business records need to be handled from an AI client.
claude mcp add --env LEXWARE_API_TOKEN=<LEXWARE_API_TOKEN> --env LEXWARE_KEYRING_SERVICE=<LEXWARE_KEYRING_SERVICE> --transport stdio lexware -- npx -y @lazyants/lexware-mcp-serverWhat lexware does
lexware exposes MCP tools for reading and creating invoices, quotations, and other sales documents. It can manage contacts and articles, record bookkeeping vouchers, search voucher types, transfer files, and handle webhook subscriptions.
The server runs through npx. You can use the full entry point or choose a smaller server for sales, contacts, bookkeeping, reference data, or system features. It reads the Lexware Office API token from the OS keyring or LEXWARE_API_TOKEN. Node.js 20 or newer is required.
Create, update, and delete operations change real data in the Lexware account. Use read-only access for lookup tasks, and test write operations on a sandbox or non-critical account first.
What it helps with
- create an invoice through the Lexware Office API
- find a contact or article
- record a bookkeeping voucher
- upload or download a file
- manage a webhook subscription
Example prompts for the agent
- Create an invoice in Lexware for the selected contact and return its number.
- Search Lexware for vouchers from the requested period.
- Upload this file to Lexware and report the operation result.
