easyeda-pro-mcp — Claude Code MCP server: EasyEDA Pro schematics
Wires an AI client into the EasyEDA Pro project you have open, so the agent reads components and nets instead of squinting at screenshots. Handy for picking apart someone else's board.
claude mcp add --env EASYEDA_MCP_WS_HOST=<EASYEDA_MCP_WS_HOST> --env EASYEDA_MCP_WS_PORT=<EASYEDA_MCP_WS_PORT> --transport stdio easyeda-pro-mcp -- npx -y @vlabsoft/easyeda-pro-mcpWhat easyeda-pro-mcp does
The server sits between your MCP client and the editor. Requests travel from the client to a local Node.js server, then over a WebSocket bridge into an extension running inside EasyEDA Pro. Nothing gets exported by hand: the agent works with the live document.
You can pull the schematic apart piece by piece — components, pins, nets, wires and labels. Other tools trace a part or a net, check that the connections you expect actually exist, and help you move around the editor. Anything that changes the project waits for your confirmation.
It needs Node.js 20 or newer, EasyEDA Pro running with the extension installed, and external interaction permission switched on. The bridge binds to 127.0.0.1 by default; keep that port off untrusted networks. Offline .epro parsing and order operations are not part of it, so with the editor closed the server has nothing to read.
What it helps with
- find which nets a component sits on in the open schematic
- verify expected connections and catch mismatches
- pull components, nets and warnings in a single request
- jump to a specific part in the editor on the agent's hint
- confirm the client-to-editor bridge is actually alive
Example prompts for the agent
- Run
easyeda_doctorand tell me whether the EasyEDA Pro bridge is healthy. - Call
easyeda_get_contextand name the document that is currently open. - Trace USB1 with
easyeda_trace_componentand list the nets it touches.

Questions about easyeda-pro-mcp
How do I install easyeda-pro-mcp in Claude Code?
Add the server with claude mcp add easyeda-pro-mcp -- npx -y @vlabsoft/easyeda-pro-mcp. Then start EasyEDA Pro, load the packaged extension from build/dist and allow external interaction.
What does easyeda-pro-mcp do?
It hands an MCP client structured context from the live EasyEDA Pro project: the open document, components, pins, nets and wires. It also traces parts and nets and checks connection assertions.
What does the server need to run?
Node.js 20 or newer, EasyEDA Pro open with the extension installed, and external interaction permission enabled. With no editor session there is nothing for it to inspect.
