Impri — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install

Routes autonomous agent actions into a human approval queue so reviewers can inspect, edit, or reject side effects before execution.

What Impri does

Impri sets up a safety checkpoint for agentic workflows. Instead of triggering external side effects directly, an agent submits its drafted action via impri_push_action and waits on impri_await_decision. The human reviewer can approve or reject the request, or tweak specific draft fields. Once finished, impri_report_result closes the loop by logging the execution status.

Impri contains 8 tools. Beyond approval queues, it offers watcher presets to track incoming signals across RSS feeds or Reddit. You can run the server locally via Docker at http://localhost:8484 or call the remote endpoint at https://api.impri.dev/mcp. An IMPRI_API_KEY is required in all setups, and the remote HTTP endpoint caps waiting timeouts at 20 seconds.

What it helps with

  • intercept risky tool invocations before they reach third-party APIs
  • allow reviewers to edit agent drafts before final submission
  • check queue volume to prevent reviewer overload during large jobs
  • set up automated keyword triggers using pre-configured templates

Example prompts for the agent

  • Check the pending approval queue in Impri before starting this batch
  • Send this comment draft to Impri and wait for operator approval
  • Create a watcher for new GitHub releases using the preset template
