Huly MCP — Claude Code MCP server: Huly access from your agent
An MCP server that wires your agent into a Huly deployment, so tasks, projects and workspaces are reachable from the chat.
claude mcp add --env HULY_URL=<HULY_URL> --env HULY_EMAIL=<HULY_EMAIL> --env HULY_PASSWORD=<HULY_PASSWORD> --env HULY_WORKSPACE=<HULY_WORKSPACE> --env HULY_CONNECTION_TIMEOUT=<HULY_CONNECTION_TIMEOUT> --transport stdio huly-mcp -- npx -y @firfi/huly-mcpWhat Huly MCP does
Huly MCP links an AI client to the Huly platform through the npm package @firfi/huly-mcp. It talks to Huly Platform deployments and is meant to work with the Platform Collective and TraceX forks too. Compatibility was tested against Intabia 0.8.33 with model 0.8.4; fork support stays unofficial.
By default (HULY_TOOL_MODE=auto) the server avoids dumping a 470-tool list at once. Exact claude-code sessions get native Huly tools, while Codex, Cursor, Windsurf, Copilot and other clients get a small proxy surface: list_tool_categories, search_tools, get_tool_schema and invoke_tool. Setting HULY_TOOL_MODE=native promotes every tool to first-class, and TOOLSETS or TOOLS pins the ones you use often.
Node.js 22.19.0 or newer is required, since the client ships no runtime of its own and node and npx come from the host environment. On an older runtime the server starts a diagnostic-only surface with the get_huly_startup_diagnostic tool and writes an unsupported Node.js runtime message to stderr; Huly operations stay unavailable until you upgrade. You also need a Huly API token, the instance URL and the workspace name.
What it helps with
- create a Huly issue without leaving the editor
- list projects and workspaces from the agent chat
- pull tasks matching a filter
- check which Huly tools the current session exposes
- connect Huly to an agent with one npm package
Example prompts for the agent
- Show my Huly tasks for this week
- Create an issue in the
Backendproject using this file as the description - Find every Huly task with status

Questions about Huly MCP
How do I install Huly MCP in Claude Code?
Run `claude mcp add huly-mcp -e HULY_URL=<HULY_URL> -e HULY_EMAIL=<HULY_EMAIL> -e HULY_PASSWORD=<HULY_PASSWORD> -e HULY_WORKSPACE=<HULY_WORKSPACE> -- npx -y @firfi/huly-mcp`. Fill in the instance URL, credentials and workspace name.
What does Huly MCP do?
It gives the agent access to Huly operations: tasks, projects, workspaces. In claude-code sessions the tools are native; other clients get a proxy surface for discovery and invocation.
Which Node.js version is required?
Node.js 22.19.0 or newer. If the client launches the server on an older runtime, only the diagnostic surface comes up and Huly operations stay unavailable.
