Parrot — Claude Code MCP server: features and setup
Parrot records and transcribes Mac meetings, then surfaces document-based answers and promised next steps while the conversation is still happening.
Open on GitHubWhat Parrot does
Parrot is a Mac app that records calls and creates a transcript. During a meeting, its built-in AI assistant can suggest answers based on your documents, flag open questions, and capture actions you promised to take. It does not join as a bot; it works with audio your Mac can hear.
You can add PDFs, text files, and Markdown to its knowledge base. Document search runs on the Mac, and matching excerpts are sent to the AI you chose. The app requires macOS 14 or later on Apple Silicon. That rules out Intel Macs.
What it helps with
- record and transcribe a call on a Mac
- find an answer in your own documents during a meeting
- capture follow-up tasks you promised to handle
- keep track of open questions on a call
Example prompts for the agent
- Record this meeting and flag questions I still need to answer.
- Find an answer about data storage in my documents.
- Capture the next steps I promised during the call.
