Hermes Action Bridge — Claude Code MCP server
This MCP server sends requests from coding agents to Hermes Agent for planning, browser work, scheduled jobs, messaging, and other actions.
claude mcp add hermes-action-bridge -- npx -y hermes-action-bridgeWhat Hermes Action Bridge does
Hermes Action Bridge connects Claude Code, Codex, and other MCP clients to Hermes Agent. An agent can hand off research, browser workflows, scheduled jobs, messages, or Hermes skills instead of rebuilding those integrations in the coding session. YAML settings and CLI flags control the behavior without project-specific assumptions.
One-shot requests use hermes-action run with plan, draft, execute, or request-approval modes. The bridge supports presets, context-file injection, context limits, timeouts, and dry-run inspection. Its default safety policy turns execute into an approval request unless a preset changes that trust setting.
Node.js 20 or newer is required, along with Hermes Agent available as hermes or through a custom command path. MCP execution needs an interactive form, so non-interactive clients stop before execution; planning, drafting, dry runs, and direct CLI workflows remain available there.
What it helps with
- hand off an agent request to Hermes Agent
- run a browser workflow outside the coding session
- inspect the command and prompt before execution
- prepare an action for interactive approval
- send repository context from a file
Example prompts for the agent
- Ask Hermes to inspect this repository and propose the next concrete action.
- Prepare a message-sending action and wait for my approval.
- Run a dry check and show what will be sent to Hermes.
