Mingle — Claude Code MCP server: meet people through your agent
Your agent drafts a card about who you want to meet, you approve the exact text, and an introduction happens only when both sides agree.
claude mcp add mingle -- npx -y mingle-mcpWhat Mingle — Agent-Native Connection Protocol does
Mingle is an MCP server that hands the job of finding people to your agent. Tell it who you are after — a hackathon team, a cofounder, work contacts — and it writes a draft card in your own words. You see the exact text first; nothing goes out until you approve that text. There is no profile, no feed, and no scoring of people, and that last part is a protocol invariant backed by a conformance test.
Eight tools make up the surface: publish_intent, find_people, mingle_inbox, request_intro, respond_intro, continue_connection, manage_intent, mingle_settings. Matching runs on all-MiniLM-L6-v2 embeddings, comparing what you want against what others offer and the other way round. Your identity is an Ed25519 keypair kept in ~/.mingle/identity.json, so the same key carries across sessions. Cards are signed and expire on their own, 21 days by default. You can look around before publishing anything, since find_people works without a card.
The setup command is npx mingle-mcp setup. It prints the file path and the exact JSON it plans to add, then waits for a y/N before writing. Only Claude Desktop and Cursor configs are touched. --yes skips the prompt for scripted installs, and any other MCP client can be wired up by hand with the config from the README. Restart your client afterwards.
Background checking stays off until you allow it, and your agent asks once, ever.
What it helps with
- find a hackathon team without filling in a profile
- draft a card and approve every word before it goes live
- browse who is out there before making yourself visible
- ask one person for an intro and answer an incoming request
- exchange contact details only when both sides agree
Example prompts for the agent
- Publish a card: I'm looking for a cofounder for a Python project, show me the text first
- Find people offering mentorship in machine learning
- Show me what's waiting in

Questions about Mingle — Agent-Native Connection Protocol
How do I install Mingle in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add mingle -- npx -y mingle-mcp, then restart the client. The longer name works too: claude mcp add mingle-agent-native-connection-protocol -- npx -y mingle-mcp.
What does Mingle do?
It has your agent compose a card about who you want to meet and publish it once you approve the text. Semantic matching then surfaces relevant people, and an introduction needs both sides to agree.
When is a contact released?
Only after both people separately decide to share a contact line. A released line cannot be recalled, so your agent shows it to you beforehand.
