HasData TikTok — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
Read-only MCP server providing TikTok profiles, video lists, comments, and creator search as JSON. Works without a TikTok developer account or OAuth.
claude mcp add tiktok -e HASDATA_API_KEY=<HASDATA_API_KEY> -- npx -y @hasdata/tiktok-mcpWhat HasData TikTok does
The server gives MCP clients four read-only actions for TikTok. An agent can inspect creator profiles, browse video feeds, extract comments, or discover videos and accounts by keyword. All responses arrive as structured JSON. It only reads material that any signed-out guest can view in a web browser.
Setup avoids official TikTok developer verification entirely. You connect directly to the hosted endpoint at https://mcp.hasdata.com/mcp?apis=tiktok or use a local stdio wrapper via npm or PyPI. You will need a HasData API key. The free plan supplies 1,000 credits each month without asking for a credit card. Because each successful call uses 10 credits, that allowance covers 100 requests.
This tool cannot modify anything on TikTok. It does not support posting videos, leaving replies, or authenticating as an account holder.
What it helps with
- Pull creator profile details and follower counts without signing in
- Retrieve video engagement stats and play counts across an account feed
- Fetch top comments and nested discussion replies for a given video URL
- Search creators and clips by keyword to extract structured JSON data
Example prompts for the agent
- Find TikTok accounts discussing specialty coffee and list the top five by subscriber count with their bios.
- Fetch profile data for @mrbeast, inspect the latest videos, and calculate their median view count.
- Extract the top comments from this TikTok link and highlight the three replies with the highest like count.
