HasData Indeed — Claude Code MCP server: jobs and setup
Searches Indeed by keyword and place, then fetches a selected job in full JSON. Useful for collecting listings and comparing posted details.
claude mcp add indeed -e HASDATA_API_KEY=<HASDATA_API_KEY> -- npx -y @hasdata/indeed-mcpWhat HasData Indeed does
HasData Indeed exposes two read-only tools through MCP. One returns a page of Indeed listings for a keyword and location. The other retrieves a chosen posting with fields such as employer, place, pay, publication date, requirements, benefits, and the application URL.
It is a hosted HTTP server at https://mcp.hasdata.com/mcp?apis=indeed, so there is no container to run. Access requires a HasData API key, passed as x-api-key; the key is created in the HasData dashboard. Without HASDATA_API_KEY, the server cannot make requests.
The service reads public postings visible to a signed-out Indeed visitor. Each tool call costs 10 credits, while the free tier provides 1,000 credits per month. Fetching full details for several results uses one details call per result.
What it helps with
- search Indeed listings by keyword and location
- sort job results by posting date
- extract pay and employment details
- retrieve a posting’s full requirements
Example prompts for the agent
- Search Indeed for
python developerjobs in New York and list the ten newest with company and salary. - Fetch the complete description and requirements for the first result from that search.
- Compare the posted salaries for
registered nursejobs in Chicago and Houston.
