A Roslyn-based MCP server for navigating, diagnosing, analyzing, editing, and refactoring C#/.NET code from an AI coding client.
Open on GitHubWhat glider does
glider gives an AI agent MCP tools for working through C#/.NET projects. It covers code navigation, diagnostics, analysis, edits, and refactoring, with both stdio and HTTP transport options.
The server selects the latest stable package when it starts. It requires the .NET 10 SDK and access to NuGet. Without those prerequisites, the server will not start. Code is processed locally, while the MCP client controls which returned content reaches its model provider.
The glider plugin creates its own connection for each MCP client. If you already have a manual .NET server entry, disable it before enabling the server plugin; otherwise the same product has two active connections.
What it helps with
- find definitions and references across a C# project
- inspect Roslyn diagnostics in changed files
- map the structure of a .NET solution
- apply edits to C# source files
- refactor code while preserving its behavior
Example prompts for the agent
- Inspect this .NET project and find the classes connected to
OrderService. - Check Roslyn diagnostics in the changed C# files and explain each issue.
- Refactor this C# code without changing its behavior, then list the affected files.
