CodeMap — Claude Code MCP server: C# and VB.NET call graphs
Answers an agent's questions about symbols and calls in C# or VB.NET code, returning facts instead of whole files.
Open on GitHubWhat CodeMap does
CodeMap runs on Roslyn and parses your C# or VB.NET project. The agent asks it about a symbol, a call chain or a single fact, and gets that back rather than a full file read. That is where the claimed 90%+ token savings come from — listings stay out of the context.
It helps most on a large .NET solution where an agent otherwise drowns. A call graph shows who invokes a method and where the chain leads, so nobody greps the solution by hand. Any editor or CLI that can attach MCP servers will work with it.
On a project in another language the server has nothing to parse: it depends on Roslyn and C#/VB.NET syntax. Point it at one solution first and watch how the agent phrases its queries.
What it helps with
- trace every call site of a method across a solution
- follow a call chain back to its entry point
- describe a symbol without opening the whole file
- keep token use down when an agent works a large .NET repo
- get oriented in an unfamiliar C# codebase
Example prompts for the agent
- Show where
SaveOrderis called from and what it calls next. - List every symbol named
PaymentServicein the solution and describe each one. - Build the call graph for
ProcessRequestin the VB.NET project.

Questions about CodeMap
How do I install CodeMap in Claude Code?
The entry ships no install command for Claude; you attach the server the same way as any other MCP server through your MCP configuration.
What does CodeMap do?
It parses C# and VB.NET code with Roslyn and returns symbols, call graphs and facts about the code when the agent asks.
Which languages does CodeMap support?
C# and VB.NET only. Parsing relies on Roslyn, so a project in any other language gets nothing from it.
